The laughter, the smile, the little girl that was so beyond her years of age. Yvonne was born in El Paso, Texas to Nolan and Rosario Richardson. Yvonne was
diagnosed with leukemia at 13 years of age and died at the very young age of 15.
Yvonne's spirit was larger than life. Her smile would light up any room. She had the biggest heart. Always ready to help anyone. Yvonne was a typical teenager who loved talking on the
telephone and listening to music. The kid that had so many loving nicknames from family members: Yvonncito, Cocoa, and Toots. It was a wonder that she could keep them all straight. Yvonne
was infectious and touched all those who ever had an opportunity to meet her. You could catch her cheering like crazy at her father's games. She was his inspiration when he was offered the coaching
position at the University of Arkansas. Nolan was reluctant to take the job because Yvonne had recently been diagnosed with leukemia and was very ill. Even as sick as she was, she
convinced her father to take the job. In fact, she insisted that he take that job!
Yvonne's death is not in vain. She lives on every time a terminally ill child's family has somewhere to live while their child gets the care they need, every time a fatally ill
child's wish is granted, every time an underprivileged child is given new clothes for school, and every time a child gets the counseling they need. Over 1.4 million dollars has been
donated to charitable organizations in Yvonne's memory. That is how her memory lives on.
